Additional Comments:

  1. I had a great time.  The last batch of students was very interactive.  I would love to be invited back.
  2. Great slide presentation and young speaker – related to student and covered a broad area in all.  I was really interested.
  3. Very informative.
  4. Possibly combine some pathways to increase attendance for presentations.
  5. Thanks for having faith in me.
  6. Bring more kids!
  7. Great time – once kids opened up, really great communication!
  8. The afternoon group seemed much more interested and engaged with all 3 of us.  I don’t know if there is a specific way to liven up the earlier groups, but the difference was significant.
  9. Tech support – very helpful with computer problem.
  10. I feel it is a great idea – students today need us much as possible figuring out what they want to do with their futures.
  11. A lot of repetition in written material.  I was unsure where to sign in so I went directly to the room.
  12. Kids were very interactive.  Good questions.
  13. Some of the kids seemed really interested, some weren’t.  Did they choose what they attended?  Overall, I think it is a great opportunity for students to get exposure to careers.  Great idea.
  14. Hopefully we motivated some kids.
  15. The facilitator for our a.m. session did not show.  This gave a disorganized feel to the session.  The facilitator should be the host of the program and speak initially, introducing the speakers.
  16. Bring tools – examples.
  17. My career may fit better with agro science; however there are certainly earth science elements.  Overall, good experience.  I hope that the students realize the value of a program such as this…
  18. One suggestion on a personal level – I’d rather not see such a promotion and use of bottled water – there’s plenty of drinking fountains around the building.
  19. Thanks Mike.  See you next year.
  20. Good format.  Kids seemed pretty engaged.  I always enjoy presenting.
  21. I liked it better when it was back at the high school.
  22. Change the name to Forest Management or Natural Resource Management rather than Forestry Technology.
  23. Allow the students to choose their interest group; some seemed interested, others were sleeping.
  24. One speaker would be adequate for groups with only a few students.
  25. Great opportunity – worth repeating!
  26. Only 2 of the 30 students in the 1st session expressed interest in our topic.  They were assigned to attend.  I think students should be allowed to attend whatever they want to attend.
  27. Being in nutrition education, I’m not sure I was a good fit with agriculture.  The two participants who came were interested in logging and agriculture.
  28. Have more students signed up for the session account for no shows – we had 3 students.
  29. Truly enjoy this experience!
  30. I really think more prep work at the high school needs to be completed.  Students seem to think of it as a “day off” rather than gaining as much as they should.  Maybe some sort of contact between presenter and students prior to, or after, the event at NMU.  Finally, I felt a bit of a time crunch while talking.
  31. Room was too hot, students seemed sleepy and disinterested.
  32. Great program, the kids seemed to get good value out of our discussion.
  33. Small groups were nice.  Very quiet groups this year.
  34. If possible it would be better if the students would be more prepared to cooperate and interact.  Have them come in with more questions for us?
  35. I think this is a great opportunity for kids and the presenters.  The sessions are most successful when the kids want to be there.
  36. A better job of matching interested kids to the session this year!  Nice to have interested kids.  Way to go!  Thanks.
  37. Wonderful experience – loved the team!
  38. The students were very happy it was interactive!
