Weekly private lessons are available at NMU for music majors and for non-majors who are actively performing in Music Department ensembles, although auditions are required and space in the high brass studio is limited during any given semester.  All lessons are taught by Dr. Flaherty - 60 minutes for majors, and 30 minutes for non-majors.  Lesson content is tailored to the needs of each individual student.  In general, lessons focus upon various aspects of brass playing (tone production, technique, intonation, embouchure formation, breath control, articulation, etc.) and the development of overall musicianship.
